Load Shedding in Bangladesh

Load shedding is a temporary interruption of electricity supply that affects our everyday life. It often arrives unexpectedly and creates many problems for people. Load shedding is a common challenge in Bangladesh that affects the daily lives of people in many ways. It is one of the unforgettable experiences of life in Bangladesh. When electricity suddenly disappears, homes become dark, students struggle to continue their studies, businesses slow down, and modern life comes to a temporary standstill. Yet, these moments also show the strength and adaptability of Bangladeshi people. They use candles, emergency lights, and their own creativity to continue their daily activities. However, load shedding also teaches us the importance of electricity and encourages us to use energy wisely. People learn to adjust with the situation by using alternative sources of light and spending time in different ways. Although it is a challenging experience, proper planning and responsible use of power can help reduce the difficulties caused by load shedding.

Paragraph on Gender discrimination

Gender discrimination

Gender discrimination means to create difference between men and women. Specially in the third world countries women is considered inferior to men. In spite of their having merits and capabilities, they are not given what they deserve. They are working in the family and out side the family, but their contribution is not seen with due honour. There are various reasons why women are not given equal rights. Firstly most of the people of our country are not educated. They fail to see the potentialities of the women and the contribution they have made in different sectors of our life.Secondly people of our country are superstitious. They do not know their religion properly. In religion men and women have been given equal position. But in the name of religion they try to dominate over women and do not give opportunity to flourish. Female children are the worse sufferers. Even their birth is not received warm heartedly where at the birth of male children they distribute sweets to express their happiness. The female children are considered burden of the family. They are not given equal food, equal opportunity for education. They become objects of negligence and victims of social injustice. This is a great problem which is to be solved. If our people are educated and given proper knowledge of religion they will understand the value of woman and can learn about the contribution they are making. If our female children are groomed up properly they will be able to carry any responsibility bestowed upon them and our society will advance very quickly.

Paragraph on May Day

May Day

May day is a glorious day in the history of the laborers worldwide. First day of the month of May is observed as the May Day. It is observed to show respects to demands of the laborers. The history behind it is very sorrowful. On May 3,1886, some workers gathered in demand of a minimum wage, safety laws, and eight hour work hours in a working day. Police fired in the crowd of strikers at the Mc Comick Harvest Machine Company, Chicago. Here at least one people was killed and some others were seriously wounded. At the beginning of Industrial Revolution people had to work long hours both day and night. It was simply inhuman. It stopped when all laborers stood up. If the workers would not stand up and demand their rights, their future generation would fail to enjoy all the productive privileges of the present day laborers. The day is most important for all the laborers both manual and mental worldwide. We need to observe it quite carefully and properly.

Pastime

The activities we do regularly for pleasure rather than work are called pastimes. Pastimes provide us with the opportunities of rest and recreation. In Indian sub-continent, people of both villages and cities have their own pastimes. Usually village people spend their pastimes by chatting and by doing various sociology-cultural activities. Some village children and boys play different kinds of rural games like ‘Ha-du-du’, boat racing, kiting, fishing, searching for birds and nests on trees. Some of them play football, cricket, badminton, volley-ball and so on. The village women and girls usually stay at home and spend their pastimes by gossiping, sewing and embroidering. The people in towns are generally educated and they spend their pastime reading newspapers, magazines, novels and other literary works. They also participate in the discussions on political issues at tea stalls. The younger generation in cities is very much fond of playing cricket, operating computer, driving motor-bike, cycling and reading books. A floating market is a market where goods are sold from boats. It was established by Chinese traders. In the past, people from inland areas brought their agricultural produce or handicrafts to sell. They bartered with people from the coastal areas. Nowadays, people can buy things such as fruit, vegetables, traditional cakes and even clothes from this market. Another unique feature of these markets is the time of trading. It begins around 5 a.m. and finishes at 9a.m. It is still going strong. Their small boats were laden with bundles of lotus flowers, farm-fresh coconuts, fruits, vegetables, local food, and delicious sweets. The sellers and buyers rowed their boats slowly. The sellers displayed their goods for sale and the buyers chose their pick. They could have a little chit-chat as buying and selling was going on.Originally, the Tha Kha floating market used to sit only six or seven days a month depending on the phase of the moon. Now a days, the trade takes place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays too. The main buyers here are the Tha Kha natives. People seem to know each other very well. First Flight

I got an opportunity to visit from Chittagong to Saudi Arabia by flight on January 02nd, 2013. This was my first flight experience. My Dad and I reached the airport at 8:30 PM. Our flight BG 345 was scheduled to leave at 9:30 PM. So we had our dinner at the airport itself. The flight was on time and luckily I got the window seat. So I had an extra benefit in my first experience. We were ready and waiting for the take off. Firstly the plane went on the run way till the opposite end and all the while I was feeling as if I am sitting in a bus. But finally it took an about-turn and the speed increased exponentially. Within a few seconds we were high, up in the sky. The view was breath-taking. The roads seemed like bright lighted lines, the houses and cars seemed like toys. Even the clouds were below us. The actual city looked like a toy model of a city. My ears were humming initially when the plane increased the height, but later on everything was fine.Almost everyone was asleep, but I was so happy and excited that I could not even think of sleeping Again there was similar view from the top. Time just flew and very soon we landed at Jeddah. The Jedda airport is awesome. A bus dropped us till the airport. So May planes were lined up there. Our plane was at 72 numbered stop so you can imagine the view. There was so much rush at the airport that it seemed like a railway station I must admit that I am in love with Jeddah at first sight. Even at night the city looked so beautiful and well maintained. It is like heaven for a nature lover like me. It was so cool and pleasant that unknowingly I fell asleep in the taxi and missed the night view.I thoroughly enjoyed myself all the while.

Balanced diet has to be maintained as schedule in our busy life. Some people do skip breakfast and try to make any lunch which is not at all good from the health point of view. Having a breakfast is better than having right away lunch. Empty stomach sometimes may lead to various disorders. Finally health brings happiness and joy not only in our life and also on the dependents.

Hygiene

The word ‘hygiene’ means the practice of keeping ourselves clean. Merriam-Webster’s Medical Dictionary defines hygiene as practices conducive to health. It also means to keep our home and work places clean. It is important for our good health. Poor personal hygiene can cause skin diseases and worm infestations, diarrheal diseases and dental diseases. Proper personal hygiene not only keeps you looking and smelling clean, but can also prevent the spread of infection. Hygiene is thought to be next to godliness. It is because we cannot achieve anything physically, mentally or spiritually if we are unclean in our body, mind and soul.Nobody likes an unclean person either. So we must follow the rules of hygiene. First, we must keep our body clean. We should have a bath every day and wash our hair regularly. This will keep the body and hair free from dirt and bacteria. Secondly, we should wash our clothes regularly. Dirty clothes give off bad smell and invite germs. We should wear socks and shoes when we go out to protect our feet from dust and germs. It is also important to wash our hands before meals and after using the toilet. We should brush our teeth twice a day, after breakfast and supper. We must also cut our nails regularly. Our drinking water must be pure. We can get pure water by boiling and filtering. Thirdly, We should cook food in clean utensils and always cook fresh vegetables after cleaning them properly. Maintaining food hygiene is good for your health. Don’t eat food beyond expiry date. Finally, we should keep our surroundings and environment clean. If we do and follow all the above things properly, we will be able to lead a healthy and happy life.

How to make a class forum.

In ancient Rome – a public place where meetings were held it is called forum. Originally forum means a place where people can exchanges opinions and ideas on particular issue.According to our textbook we see the student of class eight and stay in the school till last hour. In the tiffin hour they take their tiffin in the class room. Sometimes they sharpen their pencil with sharpener and sometimes they tear pages. For this, every day the class room is to be cleaned by the cleaner of the school. One day he was absent. The class teacher entered the class room and saw the class room was so dirty. He told the students that they should keep their class room neat and tidy however the school cleaner absent or present so what. Because, the classroom is their study room. And every student should keep their classroom neat and tidy every time. It is their own duty. The student was influenced by their class teacher advice. The class captain made a forum and selected a leader and then divided the cleaning activities among different groups. For the purpose of their classroom clean and hygienic they also decided to make some ground rules. All of the students are obliged to obey those rules. Those rules are:

• Do not spit in the class.
• Do not drop litter in the class.
• Use the bin for trash.
• Keep the desks and chairs in place.

All the students are very excited to be a member of the forum and involved themselves in the activity of their school.

Food Nutrition

Food nutrition is a key element in maintaining our overall physical well being. We must always pay attention to the foods that we eat because they will eventually impact our health, for better or for worst. We have more information available about the benefits of every particular food group than we’ve ever had before, which is why we also have a bigger responsibility than ever before to make assertive and responsible food choices.Carbohydrates, fats and proteins have each got a specific function to serve in our bodies. The key to good health lies in maintaining balanced food nutrition. Our body transforms carbohydrates to sugar that gives in the necessary energy to perform daily activities such as work, study, or exercise. Carbohydrates can be found in fruits, and in whole grain bread, pasta, and rice. Proteins are the main components of the muscles of our body. Foods that provide protein include red meat, white meat, nuts, and dairy products. Doctors recommend eating more white meat such as fish and chicken than red meat.We must take care of our health, we must seek to achieve and maintain a strong, flexible and vital physique. I cannot emphasize enough the positive benefits that food nutrition and regular exercise have upon our emotional and physical well being. Adults should teach children healthy eating habits because when you learn something from a small age it becomes a custom and you are more likely to follow this custom for the rest of your life.

LOAD SHEDDING

Nowadays load-shedding is almost a daily occurrence in cities and suburbs. There is hardly any area which is not affected by it. Cinema houses, shops, factories, hospitals are fall affected by it. The industrial units are paralyzed for the time being. Production is hampered due to failure of electricity. Even operation stops in hospitals for load – shedding. The students close their books and sit idly in darkness. They curse the authorities especially if electricity fails before their examination. In fact, the problem of load – shedding is a great problem our country. Students are badly affected for it. It should not be allowed to continue in the present manner. The whole country is bound to collapse if the present condition of load-shedding is not improved. So the government should think over the matter deeply and take necessary steps to check it as early as possible.
